7. The Clock
The clock or watch is the only thing in the entire house that lets you know time has passed. There are times when it feel like the day is moving so slowly, especially at the beginning of the party when the adults are just sitting around the dining table and us younger ones are not "allowed" to drink yet and wait for the rest of the family. As the night goes on, the anticipation that it's almost 12 starts to pop in our minds and we get so excited because it's almost present time! Even though we'll open presents an hour after the clock strikes 12, it's still the fact that we made it through the night.
